Linked Devices

You can link Signal Desktop or Signal iPad to your phone. All Signal communication on linked devices are
private.
Note:
All your chats and the last 45 days of media can be synchronized from your mobile phone the first time
you set up the linked device. Read more on the blog post here.
After linking, your phone does not have to be online for the linked device to work.
The device will unlink after 30 days of inactivity.
There is a limit of 5 linked devices per phone.
View Linked Devices
On your phone, open Signal and navigate to Signal Settings > Linked devices.
Unlinking Devices
For unlinking devices follow the steps here.
How To Link a Device To Your Phone:
1. Install Signal Desktop from our website or install Signal iPad from the Apple App Store.
2. Open Signal Desktop to view the QR code or open Signal iPad > select Add as New Device to view the QR
code.
3. On your phone, open Signal and navigate to Signal Settings > Linked devices.
4. Tap the (Android) or Link New Device (iOS)
5. Use your phone to scan the QR code.
6. Decide and Select to either Transfer Message History or Don't Transfer.
If Don't transfer is selected and you change your mind later, you'll need to uninstall and remove all
Signal Desktop data then relink and choose the transfer option.
7. Send a message from the linked device.
