The threat actor\r\nthen moves successful communications with targets to other platforms.\"\r\nPreviously, the North Korean state hackers were seen distributing malicious attachments directly or using links to pages\r\nhosted on legitimate websites like GitHub.\r\nHowever, Microsoft believes that swift detection and removal of the attackers' malicious files from legitimate online\r\nservices prompted the BlueNoroff hackers to create their own websites capable of hosting malicious payloads.\r\nThese websites are password-protected to thwart analysis efforts and are camouflaged as skills assessment portals, urging\r\nrecruiters to register for an account.\r\nWho is BlueNoroff?\r\nEarlier this week, Jamf Threat Labs' security researchers linked BlueNoroff to new ObjCShellz macOS malware used to\r\nbackdoor targeted Macs by opening remote shells on compromised devices.\r\nIn recent years, Kaspersky linked BlueNoroff to a series of attacks against cryptocurrency startups and financial\r\norganizations worldwide, including in the U.S., Russia, China, India, the U.K., Ukraine, Poland, Czech Republic, UAE,\r\nSingapore, Estonia, Vietnam, Malta, Germany, and Hong Kong.\r\nAdditionally, the FBI attributed the largest crypto hack in history—the breach of Axie Infinity's Ronin network bridge—to\r\nthe Lazarus and BlueNoroff hacking groups. The attackers stole 173,600 Ethereum and 25.5 million USDC tokens,\r\namounting to over $617 million.\r\nFour years ago, a United Nations report estimated that North Korean state hackers, including BlueNoroff, had already stolen\r\naround $2 billion in at least 35 cyberattacks targeting banks and cryptocurrency exchanges across more than a dozen\r\ncountries.\r\nIn 2019, the U.S. Treasury also sanctioned BlueNoroff and two other North Korean hacking groups (Lazarus Group and\r\nAndariel) for channeling stolen financial assets to the North Korean government.\r\nhttps://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/microsoft-bluenoroff-hackers-plan-new-crypto-theft-attacks/\r\nPage 3 of 4\n\nAutomated Pentesting Covers Only 1 of 6 Surfaces.\r\nAutomated pentesting proves the path exists. BAS proves whether your controls stop it. Most teams run one without the\r\nother.\r\nThis whitepaper maps six validation surfaces, shows where coverage ends, and provides practitioners with three diagnostic\r\nquestions for any tool evaluation.\r\nSource: https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/microsoft-bluenoroff-hackers-plan-new-crypto-theft-attacks/\r\nhttps://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/microsoft-bluenoroff-hackers-plan-new-crypto-theft-attacks/\r\nPage 4 of 4",
