It also claimed a Monday attack on the Tel Aviv municipality website.\r\nThough the Health Ministry provided no details of the nature of the incident, last week’s attacks were all\r\nDistributed Denial of Service (DDoS) in which website servers were overwhelmed by near-simultaneous requests\r\nto connect. That type of assault does not enable data theft.\r\nThe Israel Internet Association said in a statement that countering DDoS attacks involves temporarily blocking\r\nserver requests from abroad which is likely the reason that the Health Ministry site was only available to users\r\ninside Israel.\r\nIn April, Altahrea Team took responsibility for an online assault that temporarily took down the Israel Airports\r\nAuthority.\r\nAccording to the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, the group has in the past also attacked sites in Turkey\r\nand Saudi Arabia.\r\nhttps://www.timesofisrael.com/cyberattack-on-health-ministry-website-blocks-overseas-access/\r\nPage 2 of 3\n\nNumerous suspected Iranian cyberattacks on Israel were reported in recent years, including one that targeted its\r\nwater infrastructure in 2020.\r\nIs our live war coverage important to you?\r\nAre you relying on The Times of Israel for accurate and timely coverage of the Iran war right now?
