	"plain_text": "The big bad BlackCat tries to bully Hampton-Newport News CSB.\r\nShame on BlackCat. - DataBreaches.Net\r\nPublished: 2023-11-25 · Archived: 2026-04-09 02:21:55 UTC\r\nHampton-Newport News CSB was recently added to AlphV’s leak site with a message about how they had stolen\r\nover 800 GB of sensitive data. “Appoint a responsible person to negotiate and let’s get down to business.\r\nOtherwise, every client will see how you have neglected their personal information and will have a detailed plan\r\non how to win a case against you in court,” they threatened.\r\nApparently Hampton-Newport News CSB was not intimidated into cooperating, and so on November 24, AlphV\r\nposted a “last chance” message: “If you don’t get in touch in the next 48 hours, we will start publishing all your\r\nconfidential data and activate spam to your customers.”  Accompanying the threat were screencaps of various files\r\nwith confidential assessment records on clients and confidential information on employees.\r\nIt is not clear from AlphV’s listings whether they really understand what a community service board (CSB) is and\r\nthat although there are some private service providers, these are publicly funded services (e.g., Medicaid-funded).\r\nWhere does AlphV think Hampton-Newport News is going to get money to pay its extortion demands?\r\nA note to AlphV:  Posting confidential psych assessments of seriously disabled children is not a good look\r\nfor you.\r\nDelete all the data and see if you can offer to undo any damage you’ve done.\r\nSource: https://www.databreaches.net/the-big-bad-blackcat-tries-to-bully-hampton-newport-news-csb-shame-on-blackcat/\r\nhttps://www.databreaches.net/the-big-bad-blackcat-tries-to-bully-hampton-newport-news-csb-shame-on-blackcat/\r\nPage 1 of 1",
