In many cases, these utilities will\r\nprovide advanced warning of disk degradation and failure. Smartmontools was originally derived from the Linux \r\nsmartsuite package and actually supports ATA/SATA, SCSI/SAS and NVMe disks and also SCSI/SAS tape\r\ndevices. It should run on any modern Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, Darwin (macOS), Solaris, Windows,\r\nCygwin, OS/2, eComStation or QNX system. Smartmontools can also be run from one of many different Live\r\nCDs/DVDs.\r\nhttps://www.smartmontools.org/\r\nPage 1 of 3\n\nSourcecode tarballs and precompiled packages for Darwin (macOS) and Windows are available at the \r\nproject page\r\nat Sourceforge. 77..55 ddoowwnnllooaaddss 178k\r\n 44..44kk//wweeeekk 77..44 ddoowwnnllooaaddss 1.1M ... aallll ddoowwnnllooaaddss 8.6M\r\nPrecompiled packages are available from the repositories of various distributions, see the Packages page or \r\nRepology.org. Some examples:\r\nArch 7.5\r\n \r\nFedora 41 7.5\r\n Debian 13 7.5 Ubuntu 24.04 7.4 \r\nFreeBSD 7.5\r\n OpenBSD 7.5\r\nmacOS (brew) 7.5\r\n macOS (ports) 7.4 OpenIndiana 7.5 Windows (choco) 7.3 Cygwin 7.5 ...\r\nin repositories 47\r\nDue to OS-specific issues and also depending on the different state of smartmontools development on the\r\nplatforms, device support is not the same for all OS platforms. See info about RAID-controller, USB and NVMe\r\nsupport here on the homepage and of course in the manpages.\r\nThanks to Alexander Shaduri, there is also a graphical user interface for smartctl available. Go to the\r\nHomepage of GSmartControl to get all info and the software itself. Have a look at the screenshots and the feature\r\nlist to get an impression of this nice tool.\r\nContribute to Smartmontools ¶\r\nDevice Information ¶\r\nIf your drive is not in the current version of smartmontools drive database, you can help to add this information.\r\nSee the FAQ for details.\r\nWe collect info about USB devices that have been successfully or unsuccessfully tested with smartmontools. If\r\nyou have a device not listed there, please tell us the test result by editing the wiki page.\r\nBug Reports ¶\r\nTo submit a bug report or propose an enhancement, create an issue at GitHub. Alternatively create a ticket here in\r\ntrac. If you don't want to register an account, you can also send the info to oursmartmontools-support mailing list.\r\nPatches ¶\r\nPatches are welcome! The most convenient way for us is when you create a pull request at GitHub.\r\nAlternatively attach the patch to a new ticket here in trac.\r\nGitHub PR-s and Issues ¶\r\nThe former official R/O mirror at GitHub is now the official upstream repository of the smartmontools project.\r\nFeel free to fork, submit PRs and issues. Please make sure to fork the main branch as the master branch from\r\nformer R/O mirroring has been retired. Additionally, a GitHub Action CI/CD (Continuous Integration and\r\nhttps://www.smartmontools.org/\r\nPage 2 of 3\n\nDeployment) system has been set up; see \r\nworkflow for details. Every commit to the GitHub triggers a new build\r\nand provides a source tarball and various binaries as artifacts.\r\niissssuueess iinnvvaalliidd\r\n iinnvvaalliidd ppuullll rreeqquueessttss 1122 ooppeenn 118855 cclloosseedd\r\nIncident Reports ¶\r\nIf you see a failure or have a problem with our project facilities you may report it to smartmontools-devel@listi.jpberlin.de . You don't need to be subscribed for that. Your mail will then go to the list moderator\r\nand she will take action to solve the issue. Project uptime is monitored on the status page hosted by BetterStack\r\nservice.\r\nLicense ¶\r\nSmartmontools (and content in this wiki) are published under GNU GPL.\r\nSource: https://www.smartmontools.org/\r\nhttps://www.smartmontools.org/\r\nPage 3 of 3",
