You can use the instance identity document to validate the attributes of the instance.\r\nThe instance identity document is generated when the instance is stopped and started, restarted, or launched. You\r\ncan access the instance identity document for an instance through the Instance Metadata Service (IMDS). For the\r\ninstructions, see Retrieve the instance identity document.\r\nThe instance identity document uses plaintext JSON format. It includes the following information.\r\nData Description\r\naccountId The ID of the AWS account that launched the instance.\r\narchitecture\r\nThe architecture of the AMI used to launch the instance (i386 | x86_64 |\r\narm64).\r\navailabilityZone\r\nThe name of the Availability Zone in which the instance is running. For IPv4-only and dual-stack instances,\r\nthis contains the IPv4 address. For IPv6-only instances, this contains the IPv6\r\naddress.\r\nramdiskId The ID of the RAM disk associated with the instance, if applicable.\r\nregion The Region in which the instance is running.\r\nversion The version of the instance identity document format.\r\nDetect whether a host is an EC2 instance\r\nRetrieve the instance identity document\r\nView related pages\r\n \r\nAbstracts generated by AI\r\nApril 16, 2025\r\nEbs › userguide\r\nRequirements for Amazon EBS encryption\r\nEBS encryption requirements include supported volume types, instance types, user permissions, instance\r\npermissions, KMS key policy requirements, identity-only role permissions.\r\nMay 7, 2025\r\nApril 5, 2026\r\nhttps://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/instance-identity-documents.html\r\nPage 2 of 3\n\nDiscover highly rated pages\r\n \r\nAbstracts generated by AI\r\nAWSEC2 › UserGuide\r\nWhat is Amazon EC2?\r\nAmazon EC2 provides scalable computing capacity, virtual servers, preconfigured templates, persistent storage,\r\nsecure login, virtual firewalls, PCI compliance, related services, and pricing options.\r\nApril 5, 2026\r\nAWSEC2 › UserGuide\r\nRegions and Zones\r\nAWS Outposts enables on-premises infrastructure, Availability Zones provide fault tolerance, Local Zones offer\r\nlow latency, Wavelength Zones enable 5G edge computing.\r\nApril 5, 2026\r\nAWSEC2 › UserGuide\r\nAmazon EC2 key pairs and Amazon EC2 instances\r\nKey pair creation, secure storage, and usage for connecting to Amazon EC2 instances covered, including public\r\nkey placement, lost key recovery, and Session Manager alternative.\r\nApril 9, 2025\r\nSource: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/instance-identity-documents.html\r\nhttps://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/instance-identity-documents.html\r\nPage 3 of 3",
