However, some macros can pose a security risk by introducing viruses or malicious software to your\r\ncomputer. \r\nWarning: Never enable macros in a Microsoft 365 file unless you're sure you know what those macros do and\r\nyou want the functionality they provide. You don't need to enable macros to view or edit the file. For more info\r\nsee Protect yourself from macro viruses.\r\nMake a document trusted to enable macros\r\nIf you see a security warning when you open a document or try to run a macro, you can choose to make it a trusted\r\ndocument and enable macros. This example is on an Excel workbook. \r\nMacros disabled warning bar\r\n1. Select Enable Content.\r\n2. In the Security Warning dialog, select Yes to make the document trusted.\r\nTrusted document security warning\r\nMacros are now enabled on this document. To revoke a trusted document, you need to clear all trusted documents.\r\nFor more info, see Trusted documents.\r\nTip: Rather than enabling macros for each document, you can create a trusted location to store trusted\r\ndocuments. Microsoft 365 will then not check them with the Trust Center. For more info, see Add, remove, or\r\nchange a trusted location in Microsoft Office.\r\nChange macro settings in the Trust Center\r\nMacro settings are located in the Trust Center. However, if your device is managed by your work or school the\r\nsystem administrator might prevent anyone from changing settings.\r\nhttps://support.office.com/article/enable-or-disable-macros-in-office-files-12b036fd-d140-4e74-b45e-16fed1a7e5c6\r\nPage 1 of 3\n\nImportant: When you change your macro settings in the Trust Center, they are changed only for the Microsoft\r\n365 app that you are currently using. The macro settings are not changed for all your Microsoft 365 apps.\r\n1. Select the File tab and choose Options.\r\n2. Select Trust Center, and then choose Trust Center Settings.\r\n3. In the Trust Center, select Macro Settings.\r\nTrust center macro settings\r\nTip: If you have the developer tab on your ribbon, select the Developer tab and then choose \r\nMacro security icon Macro Security to open the Trust Center quickly. \r\n4. Make the selections that you want, then select OK.\r\nThe following are Macro setting options. Not all apps have the same choices. \r\nNote: The options are slightly different in Excel, we'll call those out as we go.\r\nDisable all macros without notification    Macros and security alerts about macros are disabled.\r\nIn Excel this option is Disable VBA macros without notification and it only applies to VBA macros.\r\nDisable all macros with notification    Macros are disabled, but security alerts appear if there are macros\r\npresent. \r\nMacros disabled warning bar\r\nUse this setting to enable macros on a case-by-case basis.\r\nIn Excel this option is Disable VBA macros with notification and it only applies to VBA macros.\r\nDisable all macros except digitally signed macros    Macros are disabled, and security alerts appear if\r\nthere are unsigned macros present. However, if the macro is digitally signed by a trusted publisher, the\r\nmacro just runs. If the macro is signed by a publisher you haven't trusted yet, you are given the opportunity\r\nto enable the signed macro and trust the publisher.\r\nIn Excel this option is Disable VBA macros except digitally signed macros and it only applies to VBA\r\nmacros.\r\nEnable all macros (not recommended, potentially dangerous code can run)    All macros run without\r\nconfirmation. This setting makes your computer vulnerable to malicious code.\r\nIn Excel this option is Enable VBA macros (not recommended, potentially dangerous code can\r\nrun) and it only applies to VBA macros.\r\nExcel also has a checkbox for Enable Excel 4.0 macros when VBA macros are enabled. If you select\r\nthis checkbox all of the above settings for VBA macros will also apply to Excel 4.0 (XLM) macros. If this\r\nhttps://support.office.com/article/enable-or-disable-macros-in-office-files-12b036fd-d140-4e74-b45e-16fed1a7e5c6\r\nPage 2 of 3\n\ncheckbox is not selected XLM macros are disabled without notification.\r\nTrust access to the VBA project object model   Block or allow programmatic access to the Visual Basic\r\nfor Applications (VBA) object model from an automation client. This security option is for code written to\r\nautomate a Microsoft 365 program and manipulate the VBA environment and object model. It is a per-user\r\nand per-application setting, and denies access by default, hindering unauthorized programs from building\r\nharmful self-replicating code. For automation clients to access the VBA object model, the user running the\r\ncode must grant access. To turn on access, select the check box.\r\nNote: Microsoft Access has no Trust access to the VBA project model object option.\r\nSee Also\r\nChange macro security settings in Excel\r\nQuick start: Create a macro in Excel.\r\nBlock suspicious macros in Office on Windows 10 S.\r\nHow malware can infect your PC\r\nNeed more help?\r\nWant more options?\r\nExplore subscription benefits, browse training courses, learn how to secure your device, and more.\r\nSource: https://support.office.com/article/enable-or-disable-macros-in-office-files-12b036fd-d140-4e74-b45e-16fed1a7e5c6\r\nhttps://support.office.com/article/enable-or-disable-macros-in-office-files-12b036fd-d140-4e74-b45e-16fed1a7e5c6\r\nPage 3 of 3",
